Career Counseling Advice in the New Economy
“Don’t ask kids what they want to be when they grow up but what problems do they want to solve. This changes the conversation from who do i want to work for, to what do I need to learn to be able to do that.” – Jaime Casap, Google Global Education
Career Cafe: Munch n’ Learn
Each month different Campbell parents and community members will join our 4th and 5th grade students during their lunch time to discuss their career and how their education has helped them be successful in their career path. Students took a interest survey in October and students are invited based on their career interests. All K-5 students will have a career unit for classroom guidance. The goal of this program is to educate and expose our students to a wide variety of careers over the course of the year. Speakers are asked to discuss what their average day looks like, their career’s connection to current elementary curriculum, their daily responsibilities, the education required for their position, and what skills they use as adults that they learned in their elementary years.
