Hello, my name is Pamela Clark, and I am the Advanced Academics Coach here at Campbell Elementary School. This is my 33rd year of teaching, my 18th year teaching in Arlington, and my 12th year at Campbell. I grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania. Then, I attended The College of William and Mary for my undergraduate studies, and I received my Masters in Educational Psychology: Gifted Education from The University of Virginia. I have been a Resource Teacher for the Gifted all my years in Arlington. I love teaching, music, theater, baking, and animals, especially cats!
Our school’s goal is to create an environment where every student feels supported in exploring his/her potential – a place to belong and become! As the AAC, I support this goal in several ways. Through instructional coaching, I work closely with our faculty to develop opportunities for differentiation and enrichment within all academic areas. This coaching focuses on strategic ways to utilize critical and creative thinking strategies (CCT) and on providing resources that offer opportunities for higher level thinking. Students benefit from these resources and training since it helps their teacher to better differentiate within their classrooms.
Arlington Public Schools is dedicated to maximizing the strengths and potential of all students so they may become self-confident, well-rounded, responsible and productive citizens. Many gifted students need opportunities to think abstractly, work at various rates and levels of complexity, and pursue tasks independently. In addition, students eligible for gifted services need opportunities to learn with others of like abilities, as well as opportunities to develop social relationships with others of all abilities.
