The Musical is an annual performance experience for Campbell students. It has three separate components: playwriting/collaboration, acting/stage performance, and vocal/choral development. In the fall, students are given an after-school opportunity to explore drama through games, cooperative activities, and stage directions. Included in this experience is collaborative playwriting through exploration of themes for the musical and developing some of the dialogue for the musical. Students who are interested in acting are invited to participate in learning dialogue, developing character roles, and stage movement for the musical through an audition in January. Students learn the music for the performance and incorporate this aspect into the final production in March. Parents are welcome to help with costumes, rehearsals, scenery, or programs and the music department appreciates their input into this endeavor.
