Character Overview

“I firmly believe that the most important attribute we can encourage in elementary school is the ability for individuals to be good citizens. This means increasing emotional IQ as well as intellectual IQ. Campbell’s adaptation of EL design principles and the school’s emphasis on social/emotional development alongside academic achievement helps kids along the path toward positive community engagement as well as individual growth. Each month the entire community embrace a design principle and see its philosophy enacted throughout the school. Teachers are awarded “Golden Apples” each month as a way for students to see the principles enacted in real life and real time. Embodying these ideals at all levels of the school has given my children something to build from as they currently navigate the complexities and challenges of middle school.”
